DPRK's Anniversary Marked

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is wrapped in a festive mood marking its 63rd anniversary.

Senior officials of the party and the state, chairperson of a friendly party and officials of the party and armed forces organs visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace Friday to pay tribute to President Kim Il Sung.

They made a bow in humble reverence to the President who put forth the Juche-based idea and line of nation-building and wisely led the struggle to carry them out, strengthening the DPRK into an independent socialist state centred on the popular masses.

Servicepersons, people from all walks of life, school youth and children laid floral baskets and bouquets before his statues in different places.

Flags of the DPRK and red banners were seen fluttering in the streets of the capital city. Displayed there were letters "The Leader Is the Sun of the Nation", "The General Is Our Destiny", "Pyongyang Is Best" and "The Country Where the People Have Become Masters," etc.

Newspapers carried articles praising the feats the President performed in the nation-building. TV and radio broadcasting services are airing documentaries on them.

The National Symphony Orchestra, the Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe and other art troupes in Pyongyang and local areas gave performances representing the will of the army and people to hold the President in high esteem for all ages and dynamically advance to build a thriving socialist nation, rallied close around General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Dancing parties of youth and students were held in various places of the capital city.

Employees of industrial establishments enjoyed the national day, having colorful sports games and art performances.

Catering networks across the country garbed in festive attire were busy giving special service to working people.
