Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Today the Korean people are celebrating the 63rd anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, remembering the great feats President Kim Il Sung performed in state building.

During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the President, on the basis of a scientific analysis of the Korean revolution and the socio-class relations of Korea, advanced a Juche-oriented line of building a people's government depending on a worker-peasant alliance led by the working class and relying on a united front of broad masses.

At the historic Kalun Meeting in June Juche 19 (1930), he formulated the nature of the Korean revolution as an anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution. He said the government to be founded in liberated Korea should be a democratic one advocating the interests of the popular masses, including workers, peasants, intellectuals, patriotic-minded capitalists and religionists.

After the country's liberation, he put forward a most correct state building line in his celebrated works "On Building the Party, State and Armed Forces in the Liberated Homeland", "On Progressive Democracy" and "On the Building of New Korea and the National United Front".

The President considered the building of democratic people's republic as the main target for settling the issue of power. To this end, he guided the people to set up all-level local people's committees after liquidating the colonial ruling institutions of the Japanese imperialists and arm themselves with the state-building line of the Workers' Party of Korea.

With an agrarian reform, nationalization of major industries and other tasks of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution being carried out, he developed the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea into the People's Committee of North Korea through democratic elections. He then proclaimed the founding of the DPRK on September 9, 1948.

The DPRK has made a great progress under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, who has consolidated the people's power as a genuine revolutionary one based on the popular masses by creditably carrying into practice the President's Juche-based idea and line on state building.
