Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Damage by typhoon accompanied with heavy rains expanded in different areas of Japan recently.

The death toll increased to 48 and the number of those missing reached 55 as of September 6, the Police Agency said.

The typhoon caused landslides, pulling down dams, leaving residential districts buried or inundated and cutting off communication lines and roads.
