Event Held to Display Portrait of Kim Jong Il at Institute of Teachers of Mongolia

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- An event was held at Kim Jong Il Class in "Gor King-Erdene" Institute of Teachers of Mongolia on September 1 to hang his portrait on a wall of the lecture room of the class.

Present there were officials of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Central National Library and the National Museum of Mongolia, teachers and students of the institute. The DPRK ambassador to Mongolia and his embassy officials and others were present on invitation.

His portrait was hung on a wall of the lecture room of Kim Jong Il Class.

Ch. Jyachin, director of the institute, in a speech recalled with deep emotion the day the class was named after Kim Jong Il.

He went on:

We have conducted a positive work to introduce the greatness and undying feats of Kim Jong Il.

We have successfully spruced up the lecture room with the help of the DPRK embassy and its builders working in Mongolia and displayed his portrait in profound reverence.

He has made a great contribution to achieving the cause of Korea's reunification and peace and security in Northeast Asia.

He visited Russia in August last, making an immortal contribution to boosting the DPRK-Russia relations and discussing important political and economic issues of international concern.

A letter to him was adopted at the event.
