Apple Harvest in Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- The Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm is harvesting apples.

Deputy Manager Kim Jong Gyu of the farm told KCNA that the dwarf apple trees planted in the farm are high-yielding species that begins to bear fruits one or two years after planting.

The farm weeds the orchard and applies agricultural chemicals to fruit trees in a scientific and technological way, the official said, adding:

Each tree planted in the spring two years ago is bearing several dozen fruits, over 100 to the maximum, and even some of the trees planted in this spring are loaded with fruit.

Each workteam harvests more than ten tonnes of apples a day.

The picked apples are selected to be kept in storehouses.
