Commanding Staff Exercise Begins in Kamchatka, Russia

Moscow, September 4 (KCNA) -- A commanding staff exercise was kicked off in Kamchatka, Russia on September 2.

Involved in the exercise to last till mid-September are 10 000 soldiers, at least 50 warships, 35 supply craft and 50 warplanes.

The aim of the exercise is to boost cooperation between combined units of the Pacific Fleet and the units of other services.

The program of the exercise will include a drill of preventing subversive activities of extremist groups against major objects, landing operations of naval and airborne troops and a live firing exercise of missile cruiser Varyag, flagship of the fleet.
