Anniversary of DPRK Marked by Foreign Media

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Foreign media carried special write-ups and aired special programs on the 63rd anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The August issue of International Relations, the magazine of Hong Kong of China, edited articles with a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung and photos of his revolutionary activities.

In an article titled "President Kim Il Sung's feats in nation- building" the magazine said:

The Korean people are holding him in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK.

He put forth the unique idea and theory of nation- building and provided steadfast guidelines for it.

He built the people's revolutionary government in the guerrilla base during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and, on its basis, founded the DPRK, the people's country, the first of its kind in the national history spanning 5 000 years on September 9, 1948.

He strengthened the army, consolidated the defence industry, set forth the line of building an independent national economy and made energetic efforts to carry it out.

His feats in nation-building are being successfully inherited by Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il.

On August 25 the Nigerian paper New Nigerian and Apsara TV and Radio of Cambodia carried special write-ups and aired special programs in praise of the feats of Kim Il Sung in the nation-building.
