Beijing, September 1 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense of China in a press conference on August 31 accused the U.S. of its assertion about his country.

The U.S. raised the problem of maritime strategy in a recent report on China's military capacity. China had already clarified its stand on the development of aircraft carrier and the issue of naval strategy of the country, he said.

China enforces the policy for national defence and will keep this policy even though it develops advanced weapon and the policy will not affect the naval strategy mainly focused on the greater coasting defence, he added.

The development of armaments is to meet the demand for preserving the security of the country, not to target any country and specific aim, he stressed.

Some countries should not make too much presumption and interpretation, he urged.
