Beijing, August 31 (KCNA) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao recently presided over a State Council meeting.

Wen stressed at the meeting that protecting underground water resources is closely related to a sustained socio-economic development and to the existence and security of future generations.

A 2011-2020 national plan for preventing contamination of underground water was discussed and adopted at the meeting.
