Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Yoshihiko Noda who was chosen as new representative of the Democratic Party of Japan was elected prime minister.

He was elected to the premiership at the full-dress session of both houses of the Diet on August 30.

Meanwhile, the Naoto Kan Cabinet resigned en bloc that day.
