Struggle for Solving Registration Fee Issue Declared in S. Korea

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- More than 700 organizations of students, their parents and civic and public figures including the University Students in the 21st Century and the Registration Fee Network of south Korea formed the people's headquarters for getting the registration fee halved on August 29.

At an inaugural ceremony, they accused the authorities of not honoring their commitment to halving the registration fee.

Many students are not going to universities as they are unable to afford huge registration fee. This issue requires an urgent solution, it held.

Vowing to wage various struggles to this end, they said they would expand the candlelight rallies to all other parts of south Korea and launch an action and demonstration to delay the payment of registration fee.

They also said they would open the all-people meeting and the general meeting of students in different parts of south Korea on September 29.

If the "Grand National Party" does not respond to the demand of the people, it will be forced to pay a high price, it warned.
