Tehran, August 30 (KCNA) -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that Iranian women can be regarded as a role model for their gender throughout the world.

Women can play a very prominent role in the society, said the Iranian president in a meeting with a group of women activists and managers at the Presidential Office on Saturday.

Iranian women with reliance on their capabilities are now playing an active role in industries, management, education, arts and politics fields as well as in families and they are able to carry out such significant responsibilities towards other women in the world.

One of the greatest responsibilities of women is to bring up pious and capable children, he said.

Suppression of women in societies means suppression of humanity, said the Iranian president who called for respecting all women.
