Cemetery of Fallen Fighters of CPV under Reconstruction

Hoechang, August 29 (KCNA) -- A project for reconstructing the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province, is making rapid progress.

Buried in the cemetery are remains of commanding officers of the CPV including martyr Mao Anying, who laid down their lives in the fight against the common enemies in the past Fatherland Liberation War.

Construction forces were formed and measures were taken for designing and rebuilding the cemetery and ensuring the supply of materials for the project.

Builders are successfully restoring original wooden buildings to suit the aesthetic tastes of the Chinese people, strictly abiding by the principle of historicism.

In particular, they truthfully re-presented the gatehouse with a signboard written by Guo Moruo on a permanent basis, adding to its truthfulness.

In the meantime, the reconstruction projects including pavilion and fountain pond are being pushed forward in quality.

A bronze statue depicting a fighter of the CPV and carved images on its both sides in the cemetery are represented on a high level.

The pavement of the road leading to the cemetery was completed in a short time from the start of the project and a new parking lot covering thousands of square meters is now under construction.

The pavement of the road between Kangdong and Hoechang is also making successful progress.
