UFG under Fire Abroad

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- A Nepali organization and a Pakistani figure condemned the U.S.-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises.

The Nepalese Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea in a statement said the imperialist aggressor forces staged provocative and aggressive joint military exercises gravely threatening peace and stability not only in the Korean Peninsula but in Asia despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK and strong protest and denunciation at home and abroad. The statement went on:

The United States and the south Korean authorities are talking about peaceful dialogue but escalating confrontation and tension on the peninsula and staging the military exercises against the DPRK every year.

The prevailing situation goes to prove that the U.S. does not want the denuclearization of the peninsula through dialogue and negotiations but is watching for a chance to deprive the DPRK of its nuclear deterrent by a brigandish method and realize its ambition for stifling it.

Shahida WiJarat, chairman of the Society for the Study of Self-Reliance of Pakistan, in a statement on August 19 denounced the exercises for a war of aggression by the U.S. and south Korea which pursue a policy aimed at imposing only clash, war, death and destruction upon the whole world. He voiced solidarity for the Korean people's just cause.
