S. Korean Authorities Termed Arch Criminal Escalating Tension and Wrecking Peace

Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises kicked off in south Korea on August 16 created such dangerous situation on the Korean Peninsula that a war may break out any moment.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a bylined article.

Through this saber-rattling the world clearly knows once again who is the arch criminal wrecking peace on the Korean Peninsula and escalating the tension there, the article notes, and goes on:

UFG is a preliminary war and test nuclear war aimed to round off the preparations for a war of aggression against the north.

An extremely provocative exercise called "operations to stabilize the north and transfer power to civilians" was staged as part of this saber-rattling with various administrative bodies involved. This is the real picture of the joint military exercises dubbed "exercises of defensive nature."

Lurking behind this racket kicked up by the south Korean authorities, hurling even civilians into the saber-rattling is a sinister intention to tone down the growing anti-"government" feelings among the people, chill their desire to achieve the reunification through an alliance with the north and divert elsewhere the public attention in a bid to tide over their ruling crisis.

UFG staged by the south Korean authorities is the product of their criminal attempt to stem the trend of detente on the peninsula and escalate the confrontation.

It brought to light the true colors of the south Korean authorities working hard to ignite a war for aggression against the north while paying lip-service to "peace" and "cooperation" to make a mockery of public opinion at home and abroad.
