Day of Korea's Liberation Marked by Koreans in Foreign Countries

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held by the United Confederation of Koreans in the Kyrgyzstan Republic at the Korean Centre in Bishkek to mark the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation on August 15.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il before paying tribute to them.

Pak Kyong Ho, chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in the Kyrgyzstan Republic, noted in his speech that August 15 is a historic day when Kim Il Sung liberated the country by leading the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory.

He said the revolutionary feats he performed for liberating the country overcoming all hardships will last forever.

The DPRK is now demonstrating its dignity as an invincible socialist power under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, he said.

There was an art performance of Korean artistes in Kyrgyzstan.

The paper of Koreans in Uzbekistan Thongil carried a special write-up on August 18 to mark the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
