Rodong Sinmun Terms UFG Provocative and Dangerous

Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises are exercises for a nuclear war against the DPRK as they brought to light the invariable aggressive nature and dangerous design of the U.S. imperialists to stifle the DPRK by force of arms.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a bylined article.

The U.S. responded to the patient peace-loving efforts of the DPRK by kicking off the above-said saber-rattling, it notes.

Revealing the provocative and aggressive nature of UFG and its danger, the article says:

The on-going UFG marred the atmosphere of dialogue brought to the Korean Peninsula with so much effort and pushed the situation there to the brink of war.

What merits a serious attention is that the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces openly revealed their intention to ignite the second Korean war. The U.S. and the puppet warmongers hurled into this saber-rattling even military personnel of various satellite countries which took part in the last Korean war. Lurking behind this is a sinister aim to ignite the second Korean war all of a sudden and get their satellite forces involved in it.

It was reported that the right to command operations was granted to the chief of staff of the puppet ground force and the chief of staff of the navy in these joint military exercises.

No one can vouch that those who go reckless with the racket of military confrontation with the DPRK will not ignite a war any time.

What should not be overlooked is that the "special action unit" with a mission to detect and destroy the DPRK's nuclear weapons is involved in this saber-rattling.

It is preposterous, indeed, for them to pressurize the DPRK to dismantle its nuclear deterrent while whetting the sword of aggression behind the scene of dialogue.

The U.S. had better make a reasonable choice, bearing deep in mind that such saber-rattling can neither browbeat the army and people of the DPRK nor do it good.
