Natural Disasters in Different Countries

Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Heavy rains hit Maradi and Tillaberi areas of Niger recently, causing damage.

Four people were killed, about 890 dwelling houses destroyed and 632 hectares of farmland inundated.

At least 30 hectares of savannah were devastated as of August 20 in a bush fire which broke out Friday night in the province of Ruyigi, Burundi.

Last week, bush fires had devastated another 60 hectares of savannah there.

A strong storm hit Belgian city of Hasselt on Thursday, causing damage.

The storm accompanied by rain and hail left three people dead and about 70 others wounded.

The stormy weather also caused a traffic jam.
