Many Tonics Developed in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Medical College affiliated with Kim Il Sung University has a research group engaging in developing tonics.

In recent years, the group developed cerebral nutrients and medicines for digestion and bone joints.

Among others it has developed are organic functional foodstuffs with bioactive substances abstracted from asteroid and functional foodstuff substances inclusive of organic micronutrients. Their manufacturing methods are patented at home.

The asteroid pills, a compound of unsaturated fat acid, chitosan and rare-earth elements, help increase stature, prevent aging and treat menopausal disorder, hypertension and chronic hepatitis.

A member of the group, Kim Ho (46), developed a cerebrolysin injection efficacious for cerebral trouble, dementia caused by blood vessel disorder and brain injury.

Its peptide content is 80 percent.

Many of the group's inventions are mass-produced at pharmaceutical factories.
