S. Korean Police Hit for Violating Human Rights

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- South Korean civic and public organizations held a press conference in Seoul on August 18 denouncing the police for its repressive step against the participants in the actions for vital rights. They included the Confederation of Trade Unions, the Joint Conference of Human Rights Organizations and the Joint Measure Committee for Settling the Yoo Sung Enterprise Co., Ltd. Case.

To confirm the identity of the workers of the Yoo Sung Enterprise Co., Ltd. who turned out in the actions for vital rights the police issued warrants asking them to respond to photographing by the Scientific Investigation Research Institute, said speakers in the press conference.

This preposterous and brutal suppression treating them like criminals is a very shocking human rights abuse, they charged.

The police current repressive step should be cancelled without fail as it is an issue concerning human rights of all the people, not only the workers of the Yoo Sung Enterprise Co., Ltd., they held.
