Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The Foreign Ministry of Venezuela in a statement on August 19 refuted the U.S. accusations.

The U.S. Department of State in a recent report on international terrorism accused the country of not taking an active part in combating terrorism even though it has steadily intensified relations with Iran. The statement labeled it a move against independent countries.

The U.S. report is consistent with lies, political narrow-mindedness and threat, the statement noted, condemning the U.S. for treating governments and political organizations of those countries, not obedient to it, as terrorist-sponsoring organizations or their accomplices.

Venezuela will in the future, too, pursue an independent foreign policy, it stressed.
