Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- The DPRK won two gold medals in the women's judo event of the 5th World Military Games held in Brazil in July.

Judoists from 54 countries competed in the judo matches.

DPRK girls defeated Venezuelan, Polish, Italian and Romanian judoists in preliminaries, quarterfinals and semifinals.

An Kum Ae, 31, trounced the Brazilian rival in the finals of the 52kg category held on July 20.

She took a gold medal as well as the best player prize.

She won gold medals at the World Cup Women's Judo Tournament held in 2010 and other international tournaments.

Kim Sol Mi, 21, also defeated the Brazilian rival in the 48kg category finals.

The gold medalists told KCNA that they did their best to delight Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il.
