UFG Condemned by Bangladeshi, Ecuadorian Organizations

Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Bangladeshi and Ecuadorian organizations issued statements condemning the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises.

The Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea in a statement on August 17 termed the current joint military exercises a threat not only to Asia Pacific including the Korean Peninsula but to the rest of the world.

The present situation fully showed the international community the attitude of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities standing against the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and peace and stability in Northeast Asia, the statement said.

If they truly want peace and stability, they should stop at once the Ulji Freedom Guardian (UFG) joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK, it noted.

The organization calls upon the Juche idea followers and world progressives to strengthen the movement for solidarity with the DPRK, a socialist fortress, it stressed.

The Ecuador-Guaranda Institute for Friendship and Cultural Solidarity with the Korean People in a statement on August 16 bitterly denounced the U.S. and the south Korean authorities for kicking off UFG despite the open letter of the Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army, straining the situation on the peninsula to an extreme pitch of tension.

The statement expressed the conviction that the Korean people are sure to emerge victorious in the efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations and achieve the peace and reunification of the country while shattering all the moves of the hostile forces to defile the dignity of the DPRK.
