Korean Book, Photo and Handiwork Exhibition Marks Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Visit to Russia

Pyongyang, August 21 -- An exhibition of Korean books, photos and handiwork opened in Sankt-Petersburg City, Russia Monday on the 10th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's historic visit to Russia and the adoption of the Korea-Russia Moscow Declaration.

Displayed in the exhibition hall were works of the peerless great men, photos on Kim Jong Il's visit to Russia and his Songun revolutionary leadership feats and handiwork associated with the creative talents of the Korean people

The Russians of different circles and citizens of Sankt-Petersburg City attended its opening ceremony.

The participants presented floral baskets before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

This was followed by speeches.

The citizens still remember the days when Kim Jong Il was visiting Russia, said Bavichi, vice-chairman of the Legislation Committee of the Sankt-Petersburg City Assembly. He wished the Korean people bigger successes in the economic construction and in the drive for improving the standard of people's living under Kim Jong Il's leadership.

Gavidov, top deputy governor of Novgorod Region, said that the exhibition would help the Russian people know better about the Korean people who are performing miracles and innovations in all fields including politics, economy and culture under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
