Tehran, August 19 (KCNA) -- Iran and Russia are close to each other and the development of the bilateral relations conforms to mutual interests, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

In a recent TV interview, he said the Bushehr Atomic Power Plant built by Russia in Iran is a symbol of the bilateral cooperation.

Iran will take all necessary measures to ensure the plant's security, said the president.
