Tele-education Available in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Tele-education has proved successful throughout the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Educational institutions and IT units have directed efforts to putting the nation's online education service on a high level.

Kim Chaek University of Technology succeeded in testing tele-education service for technicians at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and Chollima Steel Complex and is now expanding the success all over the country.

Kim Hyong Jik University of Education is rendering in-service training to all its teachers through network.

The Ministry of Public Health uses the tele-medicine system established between central and provincial hospitals not only for medical treatment but for training of doctors.

The Grand People's Study House provides online education through its website.

Many people visit the website to get necessary scientific and technological knowledge without going to the study house.

Libraries across the country have computerized their service activities.
