Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Lectures were held by the Guinean Group for the Study of February 16 Art and the Group for the Study of the Progressive Ideas of South Africa on August 9 to mark the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Riyad Chaloub, chief of the Guinean Group, at a lecture titled "Exploit of Korea's liberation by President Kim Il Sung shines long" gave a detailed explanation of the immortal exploits by the President.

Korea's liberation marked a dramatic turning point in hewing out the destiny of the Korean people and was a historical event that gave birth to socialist Korea, he said, and continued:

The liberation of Korea led to the foundation of the DPRK, a genuine country for the people for the first time in the nation's history spanning 5 000 years.

Formerly backward colonial and semi-feudal Korea turned into a powerful socialist state.

The exploits by Kim Il Sung for Korea's liberation will remain long along with the prospering socialist Korea.

Eddie Kekana, chairman of the South African Group, noted at a lecture titled "With superb guerrilla tactics" that the Japanese imperialists sustained a shameful defeat by the outstanding war method of Kim Il Sung.

He continued:

Kim Il Sung won successive victories in many battles fought during the anti-Japanese war with his unusual and mysterious war tactics.

The President's feats by which he liberated the country with superb guerrilla tactics will shine long in the world history of national liberation movement in colonial countries.

A reading session, round-table talks and film show took place by the Group for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea of Democratic Congo and at the Badja Machine Co. of Indonesia and the hospital of the Guinean Ministry of Defence in the period between August 3 and 12.
