Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The June 2 camping of schoolchildren from across the country began.

This camping is organized every year for members of the Children's Union of secondary schools in various parts of the country who set examples in study and its organizational life in accordance with the proposal made by leader Kim Jong Il on June 2, Juche 45 (1956) to let all schoolchildren across the country conduct brisk camping activities during summer vacation.

A ceremony was held at the Mangyongdae Children's Camp in Mt. Ryongak Thursday.

Ham Kwang Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report to be followed by speeches.

A reporter and speakers called on the campers to deeply grasp the revolutionary feats performed by the members of Mangyongdae family and consolidate what they learned at schools and train their bodies and minds through diverse activities including mountaineering, presentation of what they wrote after reading, plant collecting, etc.

A flag of the June 2 camping was awarded to the campers.
