Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked in Democratic Congo, Cambodia

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A paper of Democratic Congo and a radio of Cambodia released reports on the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The paper of Democratic Congo L'Avenir on August 11 carried an article with a photo of President Kim Il Sung.

It said that the President organized and led the bloody anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, achieving the historic cause of Korea's liberation.

The President, who achieved the liberation of Korea by making long journeys of bloody battles against the Japanese imperialists, wisely led the country and the people for nearly half a century, it stressed.

FM 90.5 Radio of Cambodia said in a program on August 9:

The President led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, holding high the banner of the Juche idea and the banner of independence under the most difficult conditions without state backing and support from a regular army, thus liberating Korea on August 15, 1945.

The liberation of the country paved a wide avenue for the Korean people to make its development and, as a result, the DPRK has turned into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.
