Japanese Diet Disapproves "Comfort Women" Bill

Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Haruko Yoshikawa, an ex-member of Japan's House of Councilors, Saturday revealed that the Diet turned down eight times a bill for a solution to the "comfort women" issue.

Speaking at an international conference, Yoshikawa said the bill had been brought to the Diet from 2001 only to be rejected.

In Japan some people try to adopt history books with no mention about the "comfort women" issue but activities have been invigorated to check the adoption and let children know the truth, she added.
