Moscow, August 16 (KCNA) -- A vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Friday clarified his government's position of opposing the U.S. call for cooperation in the establishment of a missile defense (MD) system.

The U.S. has called for cooperation in the MD project, failing to provide any guarantee that it will not weaken Russia's nuclear deterrent but ensure the security of the country, he said.

Russia will never cooperate with the U.S., leaving its own interests hurt, he added.
