New Law to Protect Indigenous Group: South African President

Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- South African President Jacob Zuma, speaking at a ceremony in Cape Town on Sunday, referred to the government's policy of protecting the indigenous people.

Zuma said the South African government is conscious of the need to improve the economic, social and cultural situation of indigenous people.

South Africa's oldest surviving indigenous group, the Khoi-San, will be protected by draft legislation to be finalized in September, he noted.
