Russian Paper Observes Anniversary of DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration

Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- The 29th issue of Russian paper Patriot specially edited an article titled "In interests of Russian and Korean peoples" illustrated with a photo of leader Kim Jong Il on the 10th anniversary of his historic visit to the Russian Federation and the adoption of the DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration.

The declaration referred to the peaceful missile program of the DPRK and the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea and Russia expressed understanding of these issues and underlined the need to ensure peace and security on the Korean Peninsula by nonmilitary means, the paper said, and went on:

The adoption of the declaration evoked worldwide response little short of firing of a nuclear missile at the U.S.

Russia and the DPRK have a long history and tradition of friendly relations and a summit meeting and talks between the two countries were successfully held in a friendly and open-hearted atmosphere.

The reality today patently proves the Russia-DPRK Moscow declaration put a brake on the implementation of the U.S. strategy for unchallenged world domination and greatly encouraged the world community in its efforts to build a multi-polar world, it stressed.

It edited the full text of the declaration.
