Tank-hunting Team Movement Initiated by Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The tank-hunting team movement, which was initiated by President Kim Il Sung in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) was a unique military tactics greatly conducive to overpowering the enemy.

One January day in Juche 40 (1951), Kim Il Sung told commanding officers of the Korean People's Army that, since the eastern front was packed with steep mountains and the western front covered with swampy land, the enemy's tanks had no other choice but to take roads. He then suggested organizing tank-hunting teams in all military units.

In August that year, he issued an order of the KPA Supreme Commander "On Organizing and Training Tank-hunting Teams".

In response to the order, many tank-hunting teams were organized in the army.

One of the teams destroyed 29 tanks with grenades and mines in a month.
