Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Cuautemoc Amezcua Dromundo, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Popular Party of Mexico, released a statement on August 5 to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

Kim Jong Il started his Songun revolutionary leadership through his inspection of Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960, the statement said.

He has developed in depth the Songun idea, pursuing the Songun politics for the first time in the world political history, it noted.

The Songun politics serves as the most powerful political mode guaranteeing the victorious advance of socialism and independence from the ever more undisguised war moves and interference of the imperialists and their high-handed and arbitrary practices, it stressed.

The statement said that Kim Jong Il has glorified the independent dignity of the Korean people with his Songun leadership and laid a solid groundwork for the reunification of the country. It noted with appreciation that thanks to his Songun leadership the DPRK is enjoying ever-growing international position and authority.
