Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to February 8 Vinalon Complex

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, provided field guidance to the February 8 Vinalon Complex alive with a high-pitched drive for increased production.

After being briefed on the progress made in the project for expanding its production capacity before a large long-term plan, he went round the vertical spinning shop, the converting shop and other places of the complex to learn about the production there.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the complex have made uninterrupted leaping advances, not resting content with their achievements, thereby completing in a brief span of time the vast project which would have taken several years at an ordinary pace and opening a bright prospect for starting production.

He highly praised its officials, workers and technicians for having performed feats, noting with appreciation that they have rapidly boosted the vinalon production and radically improved the quality of vinalon fiber.

Watching vinalon being churned out in an endless stream from spinners, converters and drawing machines, he said the quality of vinalon cotton is improving day by day. Our people can now benefit from vinalon, he added.

He watched workers converting vinalon with good care for a long while and extended a warm salute to the workers of the complex working hard to produce quality clothing materials for people.

He said the most important task facing the complex is to keep the production going at a high rate on the basis of the solid material and technological foundation.

He expressed expectation and belief that the workers of the complex would fully display the might of the complex as a model one of the Juche-oriented industry of the country.

He was accompanied by Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., WPK; Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC; Thae Jong Su, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., WPK; Hyon Chol Hae, department director of the NDC; and Kwak Pom Gi, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK.
