Beijing, August 7 (KCNA) -- Chinese pressmen had a round-table talk on August 1 on the theme "False nature of Western view of information revealed by tapping scandal".

Participants in the talk said the tapping scandal of the British "World News" betrays the false nature of the Western view of information activities and the intrinsic contradictions between the information theories and practice of the West.

Cai Mingzhao, a vice-director of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the scandal clearly shows that China should steadily develop information theories suitable to socialism with Chinese characteristics and guide the Chinese media to go along the right track.
