Performance of New Drama Goes On

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- The performance of the drama "We Will Recollect Today" is going on in Pyongyang, drawing many people.

The drama is based on strenuous efforts made by people in a mountainous county to build a minor power station in the period when the country was in hard time.

In the period the Korean people suffered from food shortage caused by repeated natural disasters and the imperialists' economic sanctions and some of the industrial establishments found it difficult to operate themselves.

The Korean people, however, turned out in the effort for the prosperity of the country under the slogan "Let Us Go the Thorny Path Cheerfully!", encouraged by leader Kim Jong Il's aphorism "Let Us Live not Merely for Today but for Tomorrow".

They constructed many things, surmounting all difficulties, with the belief that their makings would contribute to the prosperity of the country.

Soldiers built a handsome recreation ground in Mt. Kuwol and carved letters "For the future. 1997, the last year of hardship" on a rock.

The Korean people's strenuous efforts led to the production of vinalon, steel and fertilizers based on domestic raw materials and cutting-edge technologies.

They are now striving hard to build a thriving nation.
