S. Korean Authorities Hit for Ignoring Demand for Cutting Registration Fee

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- A deputy spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea in a commentary on August 3 denounced the authorities for ignoring the demand of the people from all walks of life for the decrease of registration fee.

Some private universities in Seoul recently raised tuition for new school term to the maximum of over 10 percent, the commentary said, adding this is little short of increasing registration fee.

It is adding to the sufferings of the people who are troubled by price hike, it noted.

What is problematic is that the "government" and the "Grand National Party" remain a passive onlooker to this illegal act of the private universities, it charged.

If the ruling forces sidestep the urgent demand of the people and gloss over the situation by taking unrealistic measures, the sufferings of the university students and their parents will increase and, accordingly, the people's resentment will mount, it warned.
