Japanese Politician's Remarks of Nuclear Ambition under Fire

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Tokyo Metropolan Governor Ishihara, an ultra-rightist politician of Japan, openly called for Japan's access to nuclear weapons at a press conference on August 5.

In connection with the U.S. sub-critical nuclear test, he said it would be good for Japan to do such a test, adding Japan can conduct a mock A-bomb test within three months and it has lots of plutonium.

If Japan does not become a military power, it may lose the value of its existence, he noted.

His remarks have touched off accusations and concern of the international community as they fully revealed the nuclear ambition long pursued by the Japanese reactionaries in secrecy.
