War Victory Day of DPRK Celebrated Abroad

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Events took place in China and Pakistan to mark the 58th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

There were a photo, book and fine art exhibition in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province of China and a seminar and a film show in Karachi, Pakistan on July 30.

Displayed at the exhibition hall were photos showing leader Kim Jong Il's visit to China and Korean books and fine art works.

The chairman of the Pakistan Association for Self-Reliance Studies and other speakers at the seminar stressed the historic significance of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, saying that thanks to the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung the heroic Korean people could defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country from the military invasion by the U.S. imperialists.

The immortal exploits of the President, who shattered the myth of "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists and brought about the beginning of decline for them with his Juche-based military idea, strategy and tactics, matchless pluck and extraordinary commanding art, would remain long in history, they said.

Under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il the DPRK has turned into a powerful socialist country any formidable enemy dare not provoke and the Korean people have displayed their dignity as victorious people, they noted.

They expressed support and solidarity with the Korean people in their just struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country without any outsiders' interference.

Appreciated at the show was a Korean film dealing with the invincible might of the Korean People's Army.

A message of greeting to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in Pakistan.
