Moscow, August 5 (KCNA) -- Russian President Dmitri Medvedev sent a message to Igor Spaski, congratulating him on his 85th birthday, said the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS.

Spaski is a nuclear submarine designer. He is a socialist labor hero, winner of the Soviet and Russian State Prizes and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In the message, the President praised him for his great contribution to strengthening the Russian Navy's might and missile and nuclear power.
