War Victory Day of Korean People Marked in Different Countries

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Various events took place in different countries on the 58th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. They included meetings, photo exhibitions and film shows in UK, Benin, Indonesia and Malaysia between July 22 and 30.

Displayed in the venues of the photo exhibitions were photos of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il inspecting units of the Korean People's Army and providing field guidance to the work in different domains of the national economy and photos on the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and their efforts to build a thriving nation.

Participants of film shows watched "Matchless Ranks of Paraders" and other Korean films.

Harpal Brar, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), said the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was the victory not only of the party, army and people of the DPRK but of the world revolutionary people.

It is thanks to Kim Jong Il identical to Kim Il Sung in his iron-willed grit, pluck and commanding art that the DPRK had access to powerful nuclear deterrent and is demonstrating before the world its might as an invincible socialist power leading the U.S. by the nose, said Keith Bennet, deputy director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader", and the secretary general of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and of General Kim Jong Il's Works highly praised Kim Il Sung for performing undying feats in winning the victory in the war, expressing belief that the DPRK would always emerge victorious as it is led by Kim Jong Il and has powerful capability for self-defence.
