Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, sent a reply message to Hu Jintao, general secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, on Thursday.

The message said:

I express thanks to you for your message of sympathy over the floods that hit some areas of the DPRK, causing damage.
