IFRCS Aids Flood Victims of DPRK

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRCS) rendered assistance to Koreans suffering from flood.

The federation announced that it allocated 590,000 U.S. dollars as special aid budget for flood-stricken DPRK on Tuesday, according to VOA.

The targets of the assistance include Hamhung and Sinpho cities and Hongwon County in South Hamgyong Province, Kumchon County in North Hwanghae Province, and Haeju City, Chongdan, Paechon, Pongchon and Yonan counties in South Hwanghae Province.

Utensils, waterproof vinyl sheets and other relief materials were conveyed to victims.

Many people are living in insecure houses and others are sheltering themselves in vinyl houses or their relatives' houses.
