S. Korean Police's Suppression of Actions for Vital Rights Slammed

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The south Korean fascist police on August 1 suddenly raided the place where the chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions was staging a hunger strike for vital rights, pulled down a tent and walked off the vice-chairman and leading members of the Confederation who protested against the action.

Labor, political, civic and public and other circles of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul that day denouncing the puppet police for its fascist suppression of the actions for vital rights.

The police can never be tolerated as they are committing violence against people as servants of power, speakers said.

The on-going repression is a declaration of war against the people, they said, vowing to struggle against the authorities' violence.

The further the authorities intensify the crackdown, people will display higher fighting spirit and bring Chongwadae to ruin, they declared.
