Tehran, August 2 (KCNA) -- A high cleric of Iran on July 29 scathingly condemned the hegemonic forces and Israel for their base moves to deter the country from developing.

Recently the enemy is hatching all sorts of plots such as assassination of scientists in a bid to destabilize Iran and block the development of science and technology, he said.

But these moves would bring them nothing but disgrace and shame, he noted.

He called upon the young people of Iran to make redoubled efforts to attain a high peak of science no matter how desperate the enemy may become in its moves.
