Antiques of Ancient Greece from Cyprus

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- A ceramic oil bottle and lamp are put on display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

They are historical relics ancient Greek people used during their voyage.

One day in June Juche 58 (1969) the chairman of the Socialist Party of Cyprus met the Cyprian president ahead of his visit to Korea.

He told the president that he had long looked forward to visiting Korea and meeting President Kim Il Sung, who founded the Juche idea.

The Cyprian president was glad to hear that and suggested presenting Kim Il Sung with a ceramic oil bottle and lamp of ancient Greece preserved in a museum.

The relics were so precious that it was not allowed to take picture of them and take them away from the country.

The president said it would be good to present the precious antiques to Kim Il Sung in the name of the Cyprian people.

When receiving the gift from the visiting chairman, Kim Il Sung expressed thanks to him for the valuable gift.

The chairman told Kim Il Sung that he was very happy to be the first Cyprian to give pleasure to the DPRK President.
