Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- A senior Palestinian official Friday denied reports saying that the Palestinians have resumed the peace negotiations with Israel.

On Friday, the Israeli Haaretz Daily reported that Israeli President Shimon Peres is holding intensive secret talks with the Palestinians in a bid to resume the peace talks.

The Israeli reports on peace talks "are not true at all," Nabil Abu Rdeineh, spokesman of the Palestinian presidency, said in a statement carried by the state Wafa news agency.

"Any talks with Israel must be based on the borders of 1967, comprehensive cessation of settlement and to accept the international legitimacy," said Abu Rdeineh.
