Korean Women Benefit from Law on Sex Equality
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung promulgated "Law on Sex Equality in North Korea" on July 30, Juche 35 (1946) to legally provide the women with equal rights to the men in the political, economic and cultural fields.

Since the promulgation of the law, the Korean women have enjoyed a worthwhile life, taking part in the state affairs.

Under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, they are rolling one of the two wheels of the Songun-based revolution.

In his famous works like "Women Are a Dynamic Force Pushing Ahead with the Revolution and Construction", he called for respecting women in society and training many women officials.

He visited the Pyongyang Textile Mill on July 30, 2009 and congratulated its women employees on the 63rd anniversary of the promulgation of the law on sex equality.

In the DPRK, the number of women deputies to people's assemblies at all levels is steadily increasing.

The Korean women are playing a big role in the effort for the building of a thriving nation.
